Privacy and Your Data

Your Data, Your Rules

Cloa is designed with privacy at its core. You control what Cloa can access, what it remembers, and what it can do. Here's exactly how your data is handled.

Privacy and data settings
You control what Cloa stores and accesses

What Cloa Stores

Data TypeWhat's StoredHow It's Used
ConversationsMessage history in your threadsProvides context within conversations
Companion conversationsMessage history with AI CompanionsSame privacy rules as main Cloa conversations
Long-term memoryExtracted preferences, relationships, routinesPersonalizes responses across all conversations
Integration tokensOAuth tokens for connected servicesAccesses your apps on your behalf

What Cloa Does NOT Store

  • Passwords — Cloa uses OAuth. It never sees or stores your passwords.
  • Voice recordings — Voice calls are processed in real-time. No audio is saved.
  • Raw email content — Cloa processes summaries, not full email bodies.

How Your Data Is Protected

  • All data is encrypted at rest and in transit
  • Database access is controlled by row-level security (RLS) — your data is isolated from other users
  • Integration credentials are encrypted separately
  • All API communication uses HTTPS

Companion conversations follow the same privacy and security rules as your main Cloa conversations. Your data with each companion is isolated and protected identically.

Deleting Your Data

Delete specific memories:

  1. Open the Chat tab and ask Cloa to forget something, or find the memory in your conversation history
  2. You can also tell Cloa directly:

"Forget that I mentioned my old address"

Delete your entire account:

  1. Go to the Settings tab → Edit Profile
  2. Tap Delete Account
  3. Confirm the deletion

This permanently removes all your data — conversations (including companion conversations), memories, and integration connections.

Disconnecting Integrations

When you disconnect an integration, Cloa immediately loses access to that service. Your data on the service remains untouched. See Understanding Permissions for more details.

Privacy Policy and Terms

You can find links to the full legal documents in the app:

  1. Go to the Settings tab
  2. Scroll to the About section
  3. Tap Privacy Policy or Terms of Service

Or read the Privacy Policy directly on our website.
